Here are step by step guide on how to open the hood on a Mazda CX5 vehicle.
How to open the hood on your Mazda CX5
- Locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle. It’s usually located on the left side of the driver’s footwell, below the dashboard.
- Pull the hood release lever. You should hear a clicking sound as the hood release is disengaged.
- Go to the front of the vehicle and locate the hood latch. It’s usually located in the center of the grille.
- Slide your hand under the hood and find the hood release lever. It’s a small lever located in the center of the hood latch.
- Pull the hood release lever towards you while simultaneously lifting the hood. The hood should pop open and be partially lifted by the hood strut.
- Once the hood is partially lifted, release the hood release lever and lift the hood the rest of the way.
- To secure the hood in the open position, locate the hood support rod, which is usually located on the left side of the engine compartment. Insert the rod into the hole provided on the underside of the hood.
That’s it! You should now be able to access the engine compartment of your Mazda CX-5.
